Unfated

There was a tinge of sadness in her voice

A hint of despair on his face

Their eyes sang the same tune

But their tongues flowed with different words

Was this really what they wanted

It definitely wasn't so

But could they go against fate

His and her circumstances were so

They knew they would regret

Till the day of the reapers visit

But they could not tear apart destiny's net

So one last time they kissed...

Anger

To experience anger is in itself a curse

Some cope by giving a direction

Some onto their loved ones do direct

While a few just onto anything and anyone reflcting in their reddened eyes

Some realise the cause to be themselves

Only to be slowly hollowed out the deeper they delve

While there always is that minority

That company of erudite idiots who come to the obvious conclusion

The fact that it never really had a direction..

Neither me nor you

It just is and continues to evade the adieu

Tis a dangerous feeling I fear

One that numbs you deeper than a tumbler full of hard liqour.

So I wonder what to do with all this anger

This insidious poison akin to cancer..

Embracing Darkness

Entranced in the deepest sleep
Sinking deep into the sea of  darkness Ensconced in the deathly cold

But all the way feeling a warm mould

Didn't know why but my shattered soul was remold

The only price I've had to pay was to pledge myself to the devil's fold

And then lo and behold I was back in the world of the living

With a lingering hope that the heavens will now be forgiving

Ohh.. But what a fool I was

To think I would be spared from fate's malingering claws

Well.. Now I know my tainted soul could only live in the bowels of the tenebrous hell

"Well.. Damn you heavens see how well I live in hell"

Everyday I yearned , to make hell and heaven the same as one

One day it dawned heaven and hell were naught but pun

My darkened soul had given me power

Power that this strange pun couldn't overpower

To stand tall among the devil's and gods

For they were naught but elegant facades

But what of that sea of darkness

Was it the living world's harness

Why had it felt like my mother's caress..

Condemned

Condemned to eternal darkness by a twist of fate

He laid there with his soul in a shattered state

Oblivious to his fate decreed by heavens

He dragged out his sorry existence

All he needed was to hear those warming words

Words that were simple but which would set him free

Alas all he got were swords in his heart's burning chords

Thus he howls his tales of agony since

Tales that make the demons wince..

Indifferent

And there I was, panting and struggling

In a vortex of madness and depression

While there you were, bumbling and cackling

Oblivious to my suffering, with a cold     expression

All I wanted was someone to comfort

To take my addled mind into a warm embrace

But you only ever felt I was a disgrace

Why couldn't you see that I was just hurt

Now that I've persevered, it is a thing of the past

But a hint of that soreness has already grown a cast

My heart doth feel an aversion to love

And my mind oft question " Is what I know to be love really love "

Though my beliefs were shaken

I still abide and try to help and be kind

Cause I belive in happiness that cometh by following the heart

It has never been a question of right nor wrong

That was what I had gathered on mending my broken mind..

And now you call me heartless and cold?

You call me selfish and question my heart

To say that I am indifferent to suffering

When what you have suffered is akin to a minor scrape

Where were you when I was struggling to breathe

The thing that pulled me out was my calculating mind

It was the anchor to my drifting mind.

I get it that you couldn't see it

I get it that you can't stand me not seeing it

There's no fault of yours nor mine

But amidst these worlds of hurt where doth justice lie...

The Way

With the heart as your compass

Tread the world and life alike

You'll see your way among the trillions

As you walk it with naught a care for destiny nor destination

Cz the way isn't in the past we often look into

Nor is it in the future we pride ourselves in calculating

It is in the present right now under our treading feet

Nightstorm

In the dead of night brews a mighty storm

Gusts of wind cold and strong

Bringing news of the approaching cataclysm

And drowning the town in a sea of darkness

Replacing humanity's myriads of lights

With cold electric bluish hues

Snakes of lightning turn the sky into a mosaic

And the blaring drumming of thunder makes our hair stand on end

And lo the first smattering of rain amidst this stunning chaos

Bringing with it the sweetest scent of earth

From a transparent drizzle into an opaque downpour

The rain and thunder play their heavenly music

To which dances the glimmering lightning

And thus nature puts up its mighty performance

The curtains draw on this heavenly act

With growls of thunder to finally reveal the shining moon and stars

A Summer Night

Far away in the mountains, where wars can' t reach

And the saints don't preach where people do themselves teach

A farmer and his family spend their evening on their lawn

Playin in the lawn is a girl with golden tresses

Who looking at the starry skies with her glittering eyes asks looking witty

" Daddy is it God who painted the sky so pretty"

The farmer laughs with naught any stresses

"Yea little Liz, that's right my lovely lass"

But couldn't help but think they be shattered dreams of glass

The farmers wife, she sighs" if only it could make the hunger pass"

"What's the use of such starry keep,

When little Liz's belly growls in sleep"

"Jane my dear, use it is to those in the king's keep"

" and't those who do our benefits reap"

"How can God be such cruel to let us live this misery

Whilst such joyful lives do they have, the people in golden livery"

"Aye, only on the surface that be true my love

Whilst we worry of God's love and wrath

The men of the keep they worry of waking to nightmares of  bloodbath,

So Jane my love no need to be jealous thereof"

" surely do you jest, as if you'd lived a king' s life"

Aye the farmer sighs " just enjoy the sea of stars my comely wife"

" isn't it enough that I love you and you love me and we can see little Liz grow up with naught a strife"

" Aye John we be livin a good life"

And so a smile did grace John's handsome face

A smile't was full of a melancholic grace

For John was once a prince one that was' t be a king

And also one whose fate did his brother wring

And now he lives his good life

One with goodness and simplicity rife

Whilst his brother lives through strife

And so they wait to meet in the afterlife

A place where there'd be no strife...

The Irrational Reality

What was once a pleasant dream

Is now a nightmare that makes him scream;

There was once a time he had aspired to conquer the whole wide World

The blazing deserts to the pleasant vales

The towering mountains to the roiling oceans

But now all he does is wait to slowly grow old

Aging like the great trees with withering branches and curling barks

His mind slowly eroding like the great mountains turning to dust

What were once ideals that he used to chase

Seem no more than the elven forest' s maddening haze;

Where the truth be an illusion and the illusions be the truth

He now asks the question, " what be meant by reality?"

"What's the use of a reality where I be unhappy" he ponders to the best of his mind's ability

" What's the harm in living an illusion" he comes to a dreary conclusion

And with that, to those fantastical illusions he swears his fealty;

To the elven queen he gives his loving loyalty

The world labels him mad

And the doctors sigh" too bad"

Somewhere in the neighborhood a boy asks his pappy

"Dad I remember you said the point of life was to be happy"

"Yea that right Skippy"

" Dad I think the mad man's Happy!"

Little Emily

In a land far far away hidden from every mortals gaze

Where fairies danced and dragons ruled the days

Played little Emily in a blissful daze,

Here, the unicorns and sprites were her only family,

And all was fine until one fated day she met a  stranger,

Her senses screamed of danger

'He looks like an angry bear' she thought

With malice she thought he was fraught

He waved  his hands and declared " this isn't reality "

With a wave he changed her world into a white totality

With only a gesture had he wiped out her family in an act of sheer brutality

Something he thought of as a triviality

Emily cried with her heart in tatters

But the man looked unbothered by such trivial matters

"What did you do to my family" cried Emily

The man uttered the same single phrase " this isn't reality"

"And Why would that matter " raged  Emily

The stranger just looked on haughtily

Emily cursed " You are too bad !"

And the man muttered under his breath 'you are just a bit mad'

Seizing Fate

Life, but needs a singular possibility

To seize heaven's fortune

What about us?

People surrounded with unlimited oppurtunities..

In a desolate land covered in flowing seas of sands

Traverses a cracked seed akin to a piece of gravel

With her fate lost to the desert hinterlands

Waiting for her magic to unfurl.

Stranded in the sands of time

With the torrid winds for company

Playing her role in nature's intricate pantomime

Untill she plays her final part

Laid to rest in the tenebrous crack of a rugose rock

Given rise to by the celestial cycles of day and night

The rosy dawn ushers in the magic of the cosmos

Crystal beads lining the ghastly fissures

Drawn out from the vapours of life

Permeating the deserts and swamps alike

Day and night the withered seed passed by

Until a hint of jade and a speck of viridian

From within the Stygian fissure

Out sprouts an emeral butterfly piercing the stony cocoon

A dot of green in a sea of red and yellow dune

With hope and pride she rises

The scorching Sun and the billowing winds, her existence refute

Nevertheless she blooms, under the evil Sun's angry glare

Looking at the azulet sky with an unwavering and pure stare

Fate can't help but play it's trick

Off withers the little fellow

Fading into dust and ashes

But, within those forsaken wastes are the seeds of hope

Taking root and thriving on the ashes of generations past

One becomes two and two becomes many

A pinch of green to a patch of emerald

From seas of sands to a verdant paradise

A cracked seed in an abyss of hopelessness

Giving rise to a towering forest amidst ruthlessness.
